As I set here in our cozy little apartment, I think of many fellow students who are stranded all across the country because of what lies right outside my door. ICE! And lots of it! We have had wave upon wave of freezing rain and sleet for 3 days now. We actually made it back on campus yesterday morning after driving for 14 hours way out of the way trying to get in. All the roads were covered in ice. It’s funny when you walk outside because you feel like you’re going to fall through any second. It makes me think I’m on a frozen pond or something the way that the ice crackles and creaks when you walk on it! We are currently getting more freezing rain, so there is a pretty good chance of power outages. Praise the Lord that we are here and safe!
We had a wonderful 4 weeks of Christmas break, where we were able to see lots of friends and family. We were able to visit several churches who expressed interest in partnering with us which was an incredible encouragement. As we traveled from get together to get together, we were so overwhelmed by the love and support that so many of our friends and family gave us. We are so thankful for the support system that the Lord has blessed us with.
As we begin this new semester, pray that we will be open and receptive to the working of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and lives as we are being taught incredible truths so vital to the ministry the Lord has called us to!
