Daltons in the Desert

August 10, 2007 by

An Arizona Sunset

Sunday, August 5, 4:00 a.m. After spending a busy summer with family and friends, we embarked on another leg of our journey. With a loaded Uhaul, we drove the 922 miles from Chico, Texas to our new home in McNeal, Arizona. We arrived at about 6:30 local time which has seemed very strange to us because it is 2 hours earlier! The time change has been quite an adjustment. The second we pulled into the driveway, we had a welcoming committee. We had everything unloaded and beds to sleep in by 9:00! It was a huge blessing to be so warmly received and have that kind of help.

Well. A little more about where we now live. McNeal is the headquarters for New Tribes Mission Aviation. About 40 families live and work here. We are located about 20 miles from the Mexico border and it is quite an experience to go into Wal-Mart and be the only one speaking English!

Our house is a cute single wide mobile home which feels like a mansion to us compared to our 450 square feet last year. It even has a dishwasher, a big bathtub, and counter space! Yes!!!

The kids are adjusting very well and always want to, "Go down to the shop. Look at the airplanes." Little Josh calls this his Arizona Airport Home.

Thank all of you so much for your prayers, support, and encouragement. We are so blessed and honored to be able to do what God has called us to and look forward to see what all He has planned for us.
