Almost exactly a month ago, we submitted our application for registration, and we fully expected It to be released a week ago, so Brian and I drove to the city last week and spent three days prepping the helicopter for it’s test flight, and packing all of our tools and support equipment and shipping it all back to our flight center while we waited. When 5:00 rolled around on Friday afternoon, we gave up and came home for the weekend. It was finally just released on Tuesday afternoon, so we rolled out again at 4am Wednesday morning to drive to the city and do the test flight!
After devoting a year of our lives to preparing this helicopter for service in the Philippines and wading through the time consuming import process, it was a bit surreal to see it actually hovering over Philippine soil! Keep praying with us though, because now that the official test flight is done, we have to wait for our airworthiness certificate to be issued before operational flights can begin, and our inspector is out of the country this week.
Please pray with us too about our vehicle situation. We’ve poured close to $3000 into our 26 year old Land Cruiser this year just trying to keep it roadworthy, and on this trip the transmission overheated and a compressor bearing started failing. Far to much of our time and resources is being spent trying to keep this 26 year old truck reliable and trustworthy for these roads, and we believe the time has come to replace it. Thanks for partnering with us as we labor in His harvest!
