Pray for the Nahuatl

January 20, 2010 by Katie Moore

Luis' family waving goodbye as we left the tribe
Luis' family waving goodbye as we left the tribe

On our last trip to the tribe, a man we will call Luis was ill with a fever and chest congestion.  His family will be Rachel’s and my closest neighbors once our home is completed and he was instrumental in our getting permission to be in the tribe.  We got news today that he has passed away since our last trip.  The phone call came while I was in school with the kids and one of them asked me, with tears in his eyes, “Wait!  Was he a Christian?”  Another students answered, “No…none of them are.”  We stopped and prayed right then for Luis’s family and that God will keep the Nahuatl safe and healthy until we can clearly share with them about their heavenly Father.  Please join us in praying that we will stay focused on our goals and that we can begin as soon as possible.

Thank You,
Katie
