To Wake the People Up…

November 6, 2013 by Katie Moore

Last night we studied again with Agustina.  We were reading many of the parables that Jesus used to teach the people.  After reading about the lamp on a stand and talking about the nature of light, I said: “Jesus was also called the light of the world.  Why is he a light?”

“He came to tell the truth about God,” she said.  “He was God.  He was like light because he came to wake the people up in their thinking.”

Waking the people up in their thinking…that is what God wants to do in Las Moras.  He wants a land flooded with darkness to see a great light.  This week Rachel and I have started a new phase of ministry.  I am working on literacy plans and materials so that the people will be able to read and write in their own language.  Rachel is beginning her training for translating the word of God into Nahuatl.

We know that when the light begins to shine, it will make evil look evil.  That is also part of the nature of light.  It will shine into corners and there will be no more hiding.  Not everyone likes that.  We know that many things will work against us as the truth exposes the lies.  Thank you for praying for our team.
