Heading Back to PNG

May 23, 2015 by Keith & Angie Copley

Psalm 96:3 “Publish His glorious deeds among the nations.  Tell everyone about the amazing things He does.”

Our Home Assignment is rapidly coming to a conclusion.  We have traveled to Maryland, Michigan, all over Florida, and finally to Colorado.  We have been blessed by so many that are actively engaging in our ministry to the least-reached people groups of Papua New Guinea.  We have purchased our tickets and we start our trip back to Papua New Guinea on June 24.  We have been asked to again to take on the role of one of the five directors for the field of PNG.  We will be living at our field support center in the town of Goroka.  This will be nice for our family as the international school where the girls attend is located on this center.  It is also handy for Keith’s travels as it is where our aviation department is located.  Our term this time will most likely be three years.  Lindsey (16) will graduate from high school in two years, and Lauren (15) will graduate in three.  Please be praying for them as they are keen to return to the US and attend college.  In the next few years they will need to determine where God would have them go to school and wisdom in regards to what they should study.  Pray that each will have clear direction as to God’s will for their lives. Our two youngest, Layla (11) and Lexie (9), will be attending grade 6 and 4 respectively.  Pray for them as they continue to grow in Christ.

Many have asked about the Hewa church.  We hear many good reports from the missionaries that have remained in this ministry.  The church has recently been through 1 Timothy and Titus with a focus on the qualifications of elders.  Jonathan and Susan Kopf continue to translate and teach literacy.  The church has “learning fever” right now as they grow in their ability to read and study which is crucial to growing in God’s Word.  Please pray we have the opportunity to visit shortly after our return to PNG.  We miss the church dearly and know we will all be mutually encouraged by a visit.
