An awesome answer to prayer…

May 29, 2007 by

Dag-ay is so happy to know that some of her relatives are hearing the gospel!

Have you ever had an answer to a prayer that came about in a most unexpected way? Here’s an account that thrilled our hearts this past week that helps put things in perspective.

Dag-ay (pronounced "dug-eye") is one of our language assistants. As we were checking over some scriptures the other day, she told the story of how God is answering one of her prayers.

Dag-ay has 4 children who live relatively close by and are all believers. She has lots of relatives in distant villages that she hasn’t seen in a long time. Ever since she heard the gospel, she’s been praying that her siblings would one day hear the gospel message and be saved.

The Higaunon believers finished a week long seminar recently, hosted by our village. Many people came from other villages to listen to the teaching as well as give reports of what God is doing through their ministries in the villages where they live.

Langan, Iyi and their children serve in one of the outreach villages.Langan & Iyi came from their village and brought some of the believers with them, one of them a teenage girl. When she was pointed out to Dag-ay, her eyes got about the size of saucers for she realized that she was looking at her younger sister’s daughter!

Dag-ay’s sister and husband have been listening to the foundational teaching lessons and are just about to hear the message of Christ’s death for them on the cross! Dag-ay’s brother in law is a shaman. He’s a suspicious character who doesn’t like being around other people. It is truly a miracle that this couple has stayed in one place long enough to listen to the teaching.

Dag-ay told her niece, "You tell your parents that they need to continue listening to the teaching. Tell them not to pay any attention to those who are trying to keep them from listening." She is so excited to know that God is answering her prayers.

Praise God that HE is at work in the lives of people who, up until recently, have NEVER heard of God’s love for them. Please PRAY that this couple will continue to listen and come to know HIM.
