We trust each of you have had an awesome Easter celebration. What a blessing to know HE IS RISEN and lives in our hearts! We were blessed this weekend with an encouraging message of HOPE!
We went through a bit of reverse culture shock over the weekend. In the Philippines we are used to “Black Saturday” where most stores are closed and many believe that Christ dies each year.
They believe that it isn’t safe to travel about since “God is dead” and not available to keep watch over us. We found ourselves a bit off guard last Saturday to find stores open and life “going on as normal.”
Also, each Good Friday in the Philippines there are those who have themselves nailed to crosses and others whipping themselves until they bleed. They believe this helps to atone for their sin. Praise God we are ATONED for – Christ died ONCE for ALL! What awesome truth!
On the medical front, we appreciate your prayers for us as I (Lance) continue to see doctors and have tests. I had an IVP last week and will have a Renal scan this coming week. The urologist is concerned for blockage in my left kidney and the comparison of these two tests will show him what to do next.
We’ll update you again when we hear from the doctor. Pray I make it through this week as each day has found me in a bit more pain than the previous day.
