Comings and goings…

August 31, 2010 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Family Timefamily picture

We have been enjoying a visit from Justin, Nicole and children since August 21st. They had several meetings on their way south and here in Florida. Please continue to pray for the support they lack so they can get to East Asia, next year, as He wills.

During our visit together, we enjoyed a lovely quiet two days at the beach thanks to some friends.  Then, other friends of ours from church heard that family was coming and arranged for us to go to Disney. The best part of that was watching the grand-kid’s reaction to everything. We arrived home late that night weary and worn but having enjoyed every moment!!

Just after getting up Friday morning there was a knock on the bedroom door and all we could think was something must be wrong with one of the grand-kids… We opened the door to find Robert smiling from ear to ear! What a shock!! Nicole had arranged the surprise and a good friend picked him up from the airport dropping him off here at the house in the early hours of the morning. It was like frosting on the cake!

Justin and Nicole leave tomorrow and then our work starts – getting packed up and ready to leave. We have had a wonderful “home assignment” seeing many “God Appointments” during our travels.

Answers to prayer

We know many of you pray for us daily. Thank you for praying for safety while we traveled many miles.

We have had wonderful times our whole time home seeing many friends and family. We have enjoyed being in one place here in Florida and being able to attend Aloma Church.  We had meetings in two churches we had not been in before. Wekiwa Springs Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Winter Springs. Justin and Nicole were the main speakers in the Winter Springs church but Lance enjoyed taking a few minutes to challenge the congregation to pray for laborers.

A while back we asked prayer for our co-worker, Ron. He ended up not having any procedure done as what he has is not life threatening. They are back in the village and settling back into the routine there.

Please pray

We leave on the 9th of September to return to our ministry amongst the Higaunon. It is always hard to say good-bye but God always gives the grace that sustains us.

We found out recently that the plane is down for repairs. This means we’ll be traveling back to the village over land. You’ll remember that we traveled over land coming OUT of the village!  Please pray for the repairs to be made soon.

Thank you all for praying and for those who support us financially. May God bless you richly for your partnership in our lives and the ministry God has us in amongst the Higaunon. Each and every one of you are a blessing to us!

Secure in Christ’s love,

Lance & Laura
