God did it again!

August 16, 2013 by Lance and Laura Ostman

Greetings in Jesus’ name!

We send our deepest “Thanks” to each of you who prayed for us during our four months in the Philippines and for our travel these past two months. We arrived safely back in Florida after 5,832 road miles. (that’s 9386 kilometers!)

Time would not allow us to get to everyone, but we are thankful for the opportunity to share in several churches that we didn’t get to the last time we traveled. We got to see all but one of our siblings, met some of the next generation of family, and just had a wonderful time everywhere.

Lance is busy working on the rough draft translation of 1 Kings into Higaunon. In the village, Ron & Michelle are printing the first copies of Genesis and Exodus for some of the church leaders to read through again, before they make more copies for broader distribution. We heard the other day that there are 8 villages asking for the teaching of God’s word. Please continue to PRAY with us for faithful men to be trained, willing and able to go with the precious Gospel – the message of LIFE!

Laura is keeping very busy with correspondence – trying to get caught up!

Our daughter and family in E Asia are doing well with language study. Our son, Robert, is busy with the new school year, as he continues to teach K-5th Art in Madill, Oklahoma. Thank you for praying for our “kids” and grand kids too. Both our children have birthdays this month. They are 35 and 33 years old…and we can hardly believe it! Where do the years go?!

We are so grateful for your prayers and partnership financially in helping us to get the Gospel and God’s written word to the Higaunon people in the Philippines. We give God all the glory and praise for what HE has done, is doing and will do!

Secure in Christ,

Lance & Laura

PS – the 28th of this month (August) marks 30 years that we moved into the tribal village. Here’s a picture of Robert and Nicole from around that time. 1 Thessalonians 5:23,24 says, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24  He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” Indeed HE is faithful and we rejoice in Him as we await His return.
