Goodbyes
We never get used to them. Saying goodbye to coworkers (and too many friends to mention let alone show pictures of them all to you) is what we’ve been doing this past week. Thank you for praying for us as we leave our longtime home once again. This is the seventh year we’ve been serving as itinerate missionaries and it’s been working out quite well.
Hellos
We’ve been saying hello to people along the way since leaving our village; from friends in town we hadn’t seen in a while to meeting new friends in Manila and coworkers from other areas in the Philippines. We’ve had great visits with different ones which we had to say goodbye to as well. We’re scheduled to leave in just over 12 hours from now as I type this. We’ll be saying hello to people in Oklahoma but also along the way. We’ll be stopping for a planned 14 hour layover in Portland, OR. A long time friend will be picking us up and after a short visit taking us to Lance’s cousin. Please pray for our visit with Noreen. We saw her a few years ago on our way home and so we thought we’d stop and see her again. Her 60 year old daughter Dawn has stage 4 lung cancer. So we ask that you please pray for both the physical and spiritual needs of this family.
Thank you
We’re so very grateful for each of you who pray for us and give financially to the ministry that God has given us to do. Already people are asking us when we’re returning to the Philippines. No decision has been made yet but we’re hoping that during our next visit to see our daughter and family as well as schedule an SYIS workshop. Thank you for praying for these things.
In Christ’s Love,
Lance and Laura
PS
We are planning a road trip the end of this month into August. We’ll be heading to see supporters and some family in western New York and then make our way southeast from there. Please contact us if you want us to share in your church or small group.
