Okay, so that’s a cheesy title perhaps for this post but it does tell you about location. We arrived safely at our Oklahoma home late July 7. I’d say it was an uneventful trip but there was that guy who sneezed in front of us as we walked out of the DFW airport. We both looked at each other and said “well, let’s just hope he isn’t sick!” Fast forward 10 days into our 14 day quarantine and so far, no symptoms of any kind for anything – other than jet lag of course but that’s normal and quickly coming to an end.
Blessed: What a blessing it was to come back to a newly cleaned house and food in our cupboards and a meal waiting for us. Our local friends went out of their way to welcome us home. We’re so thankful. After a day back in our house getting unpacked and settled in, Lance got back to work on translation.
We thought we’d share a picture of us with Ron and Michelle. We’ve been blessed to work with them since 1983 and God has used our team to get a lot accomplished over the years for the Higaunon church. It was hard to say goodbye.
Ron and Michelle had planned on taking their trip back to Australia later this year but with the way things are, they don’t want to leave if they can’t soon return. At the very least, we’re hoping they can take a break from the village and go enjoy time in the city, away from the routine of village life.
Originally our plans were to take a side trip to Alaska on our return to the US to visit our son and daughter in law. Well, we all know that didn’t happen, but now we have booked tickets to go see them God willing – NEXT WEEK! Whew – that’s coming up quickly – It’s a bit unsettling but we won’t let fear rule. All we need is a negative Covid 19 test to show when we arrive at the airport in Anchorage. Testing is scheduled for Wednesday and as long as we are symptom free, we’ll depart Friday morning and be away for over 3 weeks.
Thank you for partnering with us in prayer and financially as we minister to the Higaunon.
