Every week, we get a little closer to finishing our training here. Of course, we have another 10 weeks in the fall semester, but this summer, we hope to start raising support and start thinking about what needs to happen before we head overseas, and when we will go. In the meantime, we have a five-day break for Easter, starting this Thursday. It’ll be nice to have a few days off.
We have begun working on a language problem that we have ten days to finish. Doing long problems like this is most difficult at the beginning when you don’t know where to start. But it is fun to discover stuff and find that the things we learn in class are really working, and then to see it slowly come together and make sense. I always like to see what the major concepts are in a language and what it can do differently than English.
Alisha has a chance to sells some stuff at a craft fair, so she has started making some different things, including baby shoes/booties and knitted coffee sleeves. I like to see the things that she can make. It’s amazing how God makes different people good at different things. My area is linguistics and one of Alisha’s is arts and crafty things.
As I mentioned last week, Scout has gotten her bifocals, so I’m including a couple pictures of the kids so you can see. Our ridiculously warm March weather continues- this week it’s supposed to hit 95. Someone has let us use a couple of air conditioners, so we can stay cool indoors. Thank you for your interest in God’s work in our lives.
Praise:
-The chance to learn some things here that will help us and others to better understand the languages we may work with.
-Glasses for Scout.
-Family and Friends who support us in different ways
Prayer:
-Clarity and wisdom as we hope to decide on field soon.
-To learn linguistic principles as I practice them in difficult homework problems.
-For Scout’s glasses to correct her vision.
