Well, today is our last Saturday in Oklahoma. Our last language session will be on Friday; then we’ll clean up at the camp we’re staying at and drive to Missouri Friday night or Saturday morning. We look forward to being in Missouri for a few weeks before making our way back home to Washington.
But there is still a lot of work left to do in our write-up on Cherokee. I will be glad when it is done. It’s been very eye-opening as to what living in a tribe and dealing with a real language might be like. One of the major differences, though, between being here and being in a tribe is that we only have seven weeks in Oklahoma to work on Cherokee. Overseas, we’ll have much more time. It will take a couple years at least to learn and analyze the language there.
Alisha has done very well at planning meals with a couple other ladies and helping save us some money. Each person or family has contributed a certain amount toward food, depending on whether they are married and have kids. It will be nice to buy groceries for just our family again when we’re done here.
Praise:
-Elroy was sick earlier this week, but he got over it very quickly. The praise is the second part.
Prayer:
-Our lives have been in a fairly constant state of transition over the last several years moving from place to place and they will be for the several years to come. So you can pray for us and the kids to adjust well and stuff.
Thank you again for thinking of and praying for us! We need it.
