Write-up Week 1

October 13, 2012 by Lincoln and Alisha McIlroy

We’ve been here in Missouri for one week now. It was very nice to settle into our old house a little bit, but Alisha has already started doing some of the required deep cleaning in preparation for leaving. So we’re unpacked, but not for long. It has been nice to have our own space, too. In Oklahoma, it was hard to have much time alone as a family. We’re still friends with everyone that was in OK with us, but everyone needs their own space to a certain degree.

I’ve settled into a routine of going to an unused classroom in the morning and working for 2-3 hours, then going back in the afternoon for another couple hours, or just working at home. So I try to get at least 4-5 hours of schoolwork in each day. I’m probably a little over a quarter of the way through with the write-up. I very much look forward to finishing it. I have learned a number of things of how I would like to do things better when we’re actually overseas as far working with the language goes. So this time has been very useful in preparing me for what’s ahead.

Praise:

-We’ve made a lot of friends here, many of whom we’ll never see again. It’s a little bit sad.

-We’re excited to be coming home in a few weeks.

Prayer:

-The car still needs some work before we embark on our journey in two weeks. I’m hoping to have a friend help me with it.

-Finishing the write-up

-Finishing cleaning the house

Thanks!
