>Hi and welcome to our site. Please check out our specific prayer points under the link – Please pray with us! – Prayer Points-
Also feel free to check out the other links which shares a bit more info on our work in Papua New Guinea.
This week had the opportunity to become even more familiar with our new surroundings and the people around us. As I have mentioned earlier we are currently busy with the preliminary phase of language study which is called warm up. We need to get to know our new environment and the people need to get to know us. As we are walking around people are starting to know our names and why we are here. Slowly but surely we are also picking up more phrases and words within the trade language which we need to learn. We are grateful that we could establish good relationships with these people and that we could also pinpoint two families we would use as language helpers. Here we have pictures of our helpers.
Here is Marie working with her helper; also called Carol.
The kids are really doing well. We are very thankful for the way God has been helping us in this regard. Madeleen has adapted very well, she is doing well in school and has no problems at the moment. Here is a picture of Madeleen going to school for the first time here in PNG.
Here is a picture of Marie helping Madeleen with some homework. She has some work to do every afternoon, due to the fact that she needs to catch up on the other kids in some areas.
Marie is homeschooling Naomi and she is also doing well. This takes up only about 2 hours of her time and Naomi really enjoys this very much! She is also doing well and is catching up without any problem. Here is a picture of Naomi busy with her work and also of Marlou sitting close by. Marie also keeps Marlou busy with little tasks which teaches her colors, shapes and many other simple little thinking skills etc.
As I have said we are keeping ourselves busy with hiking around. Naomi really enjoys the hiking and often accompanies me when I go out. Here are some pictures of us.
Just for interest sake I have included a pineapple. Have you ever seen one growing? Many of us have not. Here we have the opportunity to enjoy many kinds of fruit which grows wild with in the area we are living in.
Well thank you very much for your prayers and letters of encouragement. Every day we understand even more the need for continual prayer support. As we face these people and the situation they are in we realize than only God can make a difference, through the working of his Spirit! Therefore pray with us for miracles!
Thanks for giving, writing and praying, may God richly bless you!
And as the Papuan’s would say:
‘lukim ju sampla taim‘
Most People are brought to faith in Christ, not by argument for it,
But by exposure to it.
