>Hi
I am thankful that our family is doing well and much better after being very sick in the bush. Also I am thankful for helping my dad after the car accident and the other party involved. Yesterday I spoke to him for the first time and it seems that he is doing better!
We are also thankfull that our langauge evaluations went so well! I have been evaluated much better than I thaught I would have which shows thatthe Lord has truly shown grace over the months as we have worked in the tribe! There is still some hard work that lies ahead, but it definatly helps to be able to communicate with them on material level! Thanks for your prayers!
We also just had a church planting workshop during which we discussed some issues with the fellow missionaries and believers from different church plants here in PNG. It was amazing to spend time with some mature believers from other works and see how they have grown over the years from unbelieving animists to mature church leaders making a serious difference! I have been humbled by their testimony. They have no university degrees, can only read and right, but they stand for what is true and are a powerful testimony in their communities!
We also had a few of our believers with us and it was the first time ever that they have met other believers. They have been absolutely astonished and would sit up into the early morning hours discussing issues and listening to follow believers from other churches! We hope and trust this will be an encouragement to them!
I hope to send a nice colorful news letter over the weekend or next week! Please continue to keep the Mengen church in your prayers!!!!! Growth will only come when you and I seek God earnestly for them! He is the source of growth and He has the authority and power! Also pray with us for fuel for our planes! There has been a shortage and we might even not be able to fly in next week again. This might mean that I will need to hike in and Marie and the kids stay on the base indefinitely or hike in later.
Thanks for your prayers and support
Lourens
