News from Macon via Lisa, tribal missionary:
They arrived safely. The strip that we use was under water a couple weeks ago but was in good shape for their arrival. They left the supply center for the Sepik region and encountered gauges going bad on the plane and went back, delaying their arrival but they did get here – It was fun to see him and we’ve sure enjoyed them the last couple days! He’s as funny as I remember but I told him that I’d always guessed the he was much younger than he actually is!
They will head to the next location this morning. They’ll canoe up the river as far as they can and then hike the rest of the way. Missionary, Jason Swanson is sending some tribal men to carry all the bags and then they know to let Macon set the pace. They’ll even hold his hand across the logs as he needs them to!
They looked a little tired last night but it sounds like they got a solid night’s sleep so he should be good to go for the hike – and all the work ahead of them yet!
