Pasebue stood in front of the gathering of Moi believers. His hands were shaking. His brow beaded with sweat. His eyes darted nervously over the crowd and settled again on the words he held in his hands.
“Sit down,” someone heckled, from the back. “You look like you are going to pass out.” With a bit more compassion, another said, “We are handling God’s Word. We don’t want to mess up.” “That’s true”, many more replied.
In spite of the encouragement, Pasebue looked like he wanted to hide. Haltingly, he concluded his part of the Bible teaching and sat down. His head drooped in shame. The missionary gently reminded him, “God wants to use this in your life to help you trust Him more.”
Two days later, Pasebue stood, to give the teaching.
Gone were the nerves; instead, he wore a huge smile, as he began the Bible lesson.
