It is such an encouragement to see the Word of God being translated, checked and prepared to put into the hands of tribal believers! Matthew, Luke and John are now completely checked and ready for another tribal group. It was a long, grueling time of checking. About 2600 verses were checked over a two week time frame. Brooks and his helpers were wiped out at the end of the time of checking and Ned was ready for a day of rest too! Every verse is read to the national speakers in their tribal language and they tell back a complete portion/paragraph of the Scripture in the trade language of Papua New Guinea. Ned is able to understand the trade language and can ask them questions if they left anything out to see if they heard and understood every part of the Scripture that was read to them. It is the last step in the translation process to make sure everything is accurate and ready to be printed.
Ned is now working on the Tigak translation (II Corinthians) once again. He has begun working with his Tigak helpers. Pray that his time would be profitable and the helpers would be available when they are needed.
Ned has been working hard on getting our boat and solar power working. The boat is fixed and the solar system is up and running. 🙂 I was blessed with an oven from another missionary when mine quit working. I am very thankful to be able to bake again!
