We just had to share with you that a new Creation to Christ teaching began today. We were expecting it to be a small group but were thrilled when 20 people showed up. That may not sound like many but it was very encouraging. It was great to see some faces we have prayed for – for years!! Please join us in praying that the people who came today would faithfully attend. There are 67 lessons starting from Creation and continuing on through the prophecies and stories in the Old Testament that foretell Christ’s coming and ending with the death and resurrection of Christ. Some of the people who have wanted to attend are part of other religious groups which are giving them false teaching, so we tried to find a time when they could come and not a time when their other group is meeting. We are hoping to teach 4 or 5 times a week in the afternoons. Pray that there would not be interruptions and that the teaching would continue on and the people who are coming would understand the Gospel clearly. In an animistic culture it is especially important that the people don’t add Jesus as another spirit to be worshipped but to truly understand that Christ is the one and only way to God. That is why there is so much foundational teaching done before presenting the Gospel.
Also, be praying for our co-workers, Tom and Beth Carlton. They recently found out that their two year old daughter, Iris, needs to have eye surgery so they will be returning to the states for 3 to 6 months.
Ned will be gone for most of the month of November. He will be helping to facilitate an Introduction to Epistles workshop for other translators and then will be continuing in his training as a translation consultant. The kids and I are not looking forward to being on our own for 3+ weeks but we are glad Ned can be a part of the translation training! He will also have the opportunity to spend some time with our kids who are at the NTM boarding school in the same town where his training will take place!
