Saying Good-bye…

July 22, 2015 by Ned and Linn Beall

Tomorrow is another day of good-byes! Zachary and Christina are headed to school. This will be Christina’s first year in boarding school. It was a hard decision to let her go but we feel like it is what is best for her in this culture and for the needs she has. It is certainly NOT easy!! We would appreciate your prayers for all of us as we adjust to the new family dynamics of having an only child! Garrett is not too sure about being the ONLY dishwasher left at home. ☺ Christina and Zachary are looking forward to being around friends and all the fun things that take place at school. Ned will be traveling with them to get them settled in and will be hiking into a remote tribe on the way home to do a translation check for another language group.

We have had some drama in the tribe over the summer months. One of our co-worker’s computer was stolen out of her house which has caused all of us quite a bit of stress. Two of the main suspects are relatives of our main Bible teacher’s wife. Please pray for our sister-in-Christ as she is torn between her Christian brothers and sisters and her “blood” relatives. Family ties are very strong in this culture and she is having a very hard time with the situation. She wants to believe in and stand with her family and at the same time is embarrassed by their actions. Pray that she can be restored to fellowship with our co-workers and church family. The whole situation has yet to be resolved and is weighing on all of us.

We went through a very dry summer also. Thankfully it has now rained and we can flush toilets, wash clothes and bathe in the house once again! We are very thankful for rain!!

Our family is continuing to grow. As you know Kara Linn and Bethany got married this past year. We were very excited to find out that Bethany and Isaac are already expecting our first grandbaby! They didn’t waste any time. ☺ The other big news is Josiah is engaged! It is hard to believe how quickly our kids have grown up. It is encouraging to see them walking with the Lord and finding God’s plan for their lives.

Thank you for standing with us and continuing to pray for the new believers as they continue to grow in their walk with the Lord! We couldn’t be here without you.
