You may not have heard about a change in ministry for us for the coming
school year. Due to a huge shortage of teachers at our kids’ boarding
school we are going to be living at the center where the school is for one
school year. Ned will be teaching math part time and working on translation
part time. He will be returning to the tribe for each school break and
working on translation and translation consulting during the breaks. It was
a hard decision to make but we are confident it is what the Lord has for our
family. It is going to be a demanding year but we are especially excited
that we will have three kids at home this year! It will be very special to
be able to spend Zachary’s senior year with him.
This summer was bonus time with our family since we came home for Josiah’s
wedding. We are so thankful for the time we had to get to know our new
daughter-in-law, Mia, and our new granddaughter, Valena. Some other
highlights were a camping trip with most of our kids and a visit from our
former coworkers, Tom and Beth Carlton, who drove up from Mexico to visit
us. We are thankful the Lord knows our needs and provides precisely for
each one. There are a lot of unknowns in the coming year but we know we can
trust the Lord for giving us wisdom as we need it each day.
Pray for Ned as he transitions into a teaching position next week along with
juggling translation responsibilities.
Pray for Zachary as he is finishing his last year of high school and
applying to colleges for next year that the Lord would guide his path.
Pray for Kara Linn and Anthony as they transition from paid jobs to
missionary training school for the next two years. They are trusting the
Lord to provide for their finances.
