So, sometimes God doesn’t answer your requests quite like you imagine:) As you know the process has had its little ups and downs. Today… I THINK we had an up!!!! Our power of attorney was asked to come back today and we thought maybe the “administrative review” was finished and they would ask him to come on Friday to pick up our daughter’s visa. The meeting has happened and is finished up. However, the US Embassy has somehow lost one of our papers. They have asked our very wonderful power of attorney to come back with that paper on Thursday at 1:00. After that we are praying they will tell him to return again for her visa (preferably the next day). Just to let you know, our power of attorney and the entire office there have been SO diligent. It takes a good 3 hours out of their day EVERY time they have to go to the US Embassy for us (just travel time!!!!) I don’t know if the Embassy EVER does this- but pray that they have the visa on Thursday so our POA doesn’t have to return on Friday. That would be a huge blessing!
Anyway, all for now. I hope this has been a great way for many of you to see the inner workings of an adoption. I know some of you have mentioned that to us and it was part of the purpose in sharing it with you. Believe it or not… this is a pretty smooth adoption. We’ve met 2 people this year that both know families who have been waiting for YEARS after getting their child’s referral and adopting them because their country of adoption is in shambles- organizationally speaking. We are very blessed. I read a Bible verse this morning that really caught my eye and could describe what I’m feeling about this process and God’s leading. Deuteronomy 10:21 “He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” I know this was directed to Israel, but if you’ve been following our story, I’m sure you’d agree, that God has done some awesome things to get us to this point! Thank you for all your prayers…. Emmanuella is almost home!
