Good news!

November 6, 2013 by Paul and Ellen Swenson

Well, the last few weeks have been a good time to sit back and say “God, You are in control and if Your plan includes us not bringing home our little girl right away, I trust You.” It was hard and yet calming at the same time. I really needed to get to this point. Before this point, I panicked every time I thought of her growing another month older without her family and at the thought of facing the holidays without her. The last week or so I’ve really tried to let go of all of that and wait on the Lord and His timing (you would have thought I’d have learned that during our 5 years of dating… waiting to marry- I suppose lessons don’t always come easy:)). It has been a great experience…. a blessing in disguise. Anyway, Yesterday we received great news from our power of attorney and we also received the news directly from the US Embassy today. Emmanuella’s U.S. Embassy processing is DONE and they’ve asked our POA to drop off her passport …. to have her U.S. immigration visa inserted into it!!!!! So excited and so THANKFUL!!!! We don’t know when our POA will be asked to come back for this, but it is usually on a Friday and typically the next day. We aren’t making travel plans until he has this in his hands.
There are many reasons why God has us wait. He may use us going through this experience to help others with the wait someday….OR maybe just to give us an AWESOME THANKSGIVING GIFT!!!! HE IS SO GOOD,,,, ALL THE TIME! EVEN WHEN WE ARE WAITING!!!
