With Numonohi Christian Academy’s (our NTM school for missionary kids) graduation just a few weeks away, life here at our centre has entered a time of transition. Shortly after graduation, many families choose this time to head back to their home countries….some for a time of home assignment (formally called furlough) and some to change ministries. And like most years, our NTM aviation staff is no exception to this “tradition.”
While we do have one family returning in July, we will be saying good-bye to several more. This once again will mean some lean months ahead, staff-wise, and more opportunities to trust the Lord. How do you cover the work of two pilots, two mechanics and one admin person? Please join us in praying for wisdom and endurance during this time. We count it a tremendous blessing to be able to offer aviation support to our bush missionaries and hope that these shortages don’t mean we have to limit our services to them. Also, please pray for more laborers. The fields of PNG are ripe and ready for harvest.
It is also a time of transition for Aviation leadership in McNeal, Arizona. Please pray for the team there as they work through some necessary changes.
Time of Teaching
Praise be to God! In our last update we asked you to pray for the Gospel presentation amongst the Akolet people. Many have in fact placed their trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross. Some are “still on the fence” so please continue to pray for the missionaries as they meet with folks individually and answer questions. Also please pray for wisdom as they begin to disciple these young believers.
Another tribal group, the Siar people, will soon begin to hear evangelistic Bible lessons. Pray for the missionaries as they finalize teaching materials and also how they are going to go about sharing the Good News!
Liklik tok save
That’s Tok Pisin (the trade language here in PNG) for a little information. We too are going to join those transitioning folks mentioned above. Come August/September we will be transitioning back to the US for medical reasons. Andrea has developed a condition that will require a lifetime change for both of us. Yes, that’s right. We are expecting in November!!
Due to the very limited medical facilities here in PNG, we have decided to return to the US to have the baby. This will also give us a chance to visit with many of our friends, family and supporters. (And of course to introduce many of you to Baby Wilson).
Lots to pray about. We are currently looking to the Lord for housing while we will be in the US. We would prefer to settle in the Southern Maryland area but we are also open to where the Lord will direct. And then there are just a few others tasks like buying tickets, finding a doctor, packing up our house, training replacements igo igo (Tok Pisin for ect.)
