I didn’t know that PA was so beautiful. We were blessed to be smack-dab in the middle of the state and enjoying the Appalachian countryside for our spring break. It was on the rainy side, but we played outside anyway, roaming through the forests, pushing down old trees. I actually have 137 pictures from the trip, but I’ll spare you all of the photos of mushrooms, fungus, moss, leaves, and tiny waterfalls. I’m pretty sure I turn into a little kid when you put me in the woods, forgetting that in the other world there’s homework or laundry or things to be responsible for.
These little calves are the cutest. For most of my life I lived in the city, but that’s not to say that my Mom didn’t make sure we had dirt to play in or gardens to weed, she just didn’t have cows and pigs in her backyards. They let us bottle-feed the calves, which was not much on the scale of milking 40 cows, but it was awesome! They are just adorable, frisky little creatures. I even got to feed one that had been born earlier that morning–he hadn’t even figured out how to eat quite yet!
I didn’t manage to finish writing all that I wanted or posting all of the pictures as there was bread to make yesterday and Monday looming on the horizon, so I’ll try to have those up later today or tomorrow. Stay tuned…
