Pennsylvania Part 2

April 12, 2011 by Payton and Grace Downing

So, it wasn’t all play on the trip. We had homework to do. The general consensus after the break was that everyone spent about 8-10 hours on it–I spent about 8 hours during the break. But, there was a good, rustic, coffee shop downtown where we were able to read and write. They also had splendid muffins! I also to take a nap on some fluffy moss the day we pushed down trees, but alas, it was too wet! That stuff was seriously comfy though–it had about 3-4 inches of give, making it perfect bedding, except for maybe the bugs.

Our friendly host took us around the area, through the old railroad tunnels and up on top of some “mountains”–I’m not sure how high a hill has to be to be a mountain. Needless to say, it was lovely to be in the fresh air and the trees. I even found some mullein leaves that I made a tea with later since I had a cold. It made me miss wandering through Colorado hillsides and meadows.
