Finally, I feel like we’ve transitioned from the chaos that was August and into the mildness of September. The weather just began its descent into fall and I’m enjoying the rains, the savor of soups, and the anticipation of fresh cider. We have just begun to get into the meatiness of Romans, formed a better grip on what Scripture says about angels, demons and Satan, and read some great books for our Family Relationships class (“Shepherding a Child’s Heart” and “Spiritual Relationships that Last”). We enjoyed the Labor Day weekend with family and celebrated our 2 year anniversary! We even foraged some wild grapes with the cousins! My dad and grandpa did what they do best and helped solve the problem of dislodging some of the highest vines while dodging the poison ivy and thorns. This involved hedge clippers and a sketchy, very heavy metal bar thingy. But I did end up with a little over 5 pints of Wild Grape Jelly–and very purple hands!
It feels good to be settling in and feeling a little more “homey” in our current residence. Speaking of our apartment, here are some photos!
We are so thankful for this chance to spend so much time in God’s Word as preparation for the future! By the way, my burn has almost fully healed thanks to plenty of salve and many prayers! Speaking of prayers, here are some requests if you think of us:
– a job for Payton that fits our schedule (he’s been searching)
– opportunities for outreach (a possibility has come up, just pray that it moves forward)
