“Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner… or not” (a remedy)

February 8, 2013 by Payton and Grace Downing

Our scheduled outreach for today got canceled because the boys were getting rowdy at the detention center, so I figured I’d take the time to write the second part of a post that was written over a year ago.

For the back story, you may read the original post, which sheds light on the original title. But long story short, a people group in the Asia Pacific region were asking for missionaries to come and live among them, and now that request has been answered! Okay, stating it like that really doesn’t make it sound exciting…you really do have to read the past post and watch the video to fully appreciate what is now going on among the Dem people.

Each morning we have a dedicated time to pray for missionaries within NTM. Ruffling through the stacks of newsletters, Grace found one from some folks who were talking about allocating to a tribe–the Dem tribe! Today was a prayer of thanksgiving to God for the Dem, instead of a request. How neat it is to see God at work in this way. I’ll leave it at that and say if you want to find out a little more on the Dem, here’s a link to one of the missionary families who are allocating among them.

I get so excited whenever I think about the Dem or hear about them or see pictures. I am friends with the couples that are moving in to the tribe, so I feel extra attached to this tribe. Praise the Lord their request has been answered! 🙂
