Pig’s Feet and Another Party

June 12, 2013 by Payton and Grace Downing

I’m a bit behind on blogs, but I promise to get some fresh, current Colorado posts out soon.

This was a much anticipated lab with limited spots. I got the privilege of helping shave the pig’s foot before rushing off to my small group study. Payton was left to learn the art of suturing. I wish I could have stayed!

But, I’m glad one of us knows how to stitch flesh. I might just stick to mending fabric.

Another much-awaited event, although not quite as smelly as pig feet, was our final elinc gathering of the semester. Everyone turned out for a grill-out/bbq/potluck and a boat ride. Sounds like we are living the dream, huh?! A side note: our training does not usually involve boat rides

brett grilling

There was extreme grilling and a radically daring way to eat a burger. Katie taught me how burgers are done on the east coast. Apparently you need chili and coleslaw. It was amazing. I’m drooling now just thinking of it!

addy and potato salad

Addie was quite apprehensive when it came to the potato salad. Usually I am too, so I understood her fear.

All of the ladies had no qualms about the burgers. (They all posed in case you were wondering 🙂 )IMG_2944

Gracia was just really excited about everything!

It was a good way to finish out the semester and enjoy eachother’s company before heading out to all of the corners of the globe!
