Payton’s brother Austin made a visit out to us at the MTC after he got back from Afghanistan! Everything was crazy as the semester came to an end, but he was able to jump right in. He got to check out our TPR (langauge-learning) class and see what life on campus looks like. But, one of the highlights was our friends the bees. Virgil (the aforementioned beecharmer) wanted us to see what the bees were working on before we left for the summer. Last time, the hives had just been moved into their wooden home with plenty of room for expansion. It hadn’t been very warm in Missouri, so they were a little slow working on those new frames, but we did get to see new eggs and larvae! They had drawn out parts, and I could see honey glowing in some of the comb. I was a lot less afraid of the bees this time. The long-sleeve shirt and the net gave me a sense of security–I think I’ll lose the gloves next time.
In an effort to clean out the freezer as a part of finishing our house-cleaning, we made popsicles! It was a good way to end the time. This picture of the brothers is by far my favorite! I know that I’m smiling because I just found a whole blueberry in my popsicle. And if you’re in the mood for experimenting, I saw this post on some incredible popsicle recipes. I promise you’ll be drooling by the end of it. 😉

Hi Payton & Grace,
Great to hear you guys will be in Michigan in December. Hope all is well with you two. Anything specific I can pray for? I have a prayer request, if you wouldn’t mind; I am having a full knee replacement on July 30th. Would you please pray that all goes well and that all will go well with rehab so I can get back to work ASAP. Thanks so much, love and prayers always!
Sue
