HI! Just a short email for now to let you know about my mom (Jackie’s).
I took her to the hospital Monday afternoon, March 26, for a possible stroke. The next day she seemed better and we had hoped she would be released from the hospital within a few days. However, on Thursday her condition changed – we aren’t sure if she had another stroke or what. I was with her until late that evening and then went home. About 1:30 A.M. Friday morning the doctor called and said that Mom’s heart had stopped twice and that she had passed away. It was a hard thing to hear but not really unexpected. We knew that her heart and kidneys were worn out after being on dialysis for about 8 years and that it was just a matter of time. Our peace comes from the fact of knowing that she is with the Lord and no longer has to go through dialysis and no more pain! I do miss her, though, and keep thinking she will be sitting down to eat with us at meal time.
The funeral service will Friday, April 6th, at Trinity Baptist church where Mom was a member for many years. The Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 2:00 P.M. Those interested in sending flowers please notice that in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the New Tribes Mission in Frances’ memory (phone # 407-323-3430). Donations will go to the Bolivia Flood Relief fund. { Much of northern Bolivia is still affected by flooding. NTM is seeking to collaborate with some of the churches to provide help where it will do the most long term good. Pray that the suffering will drive people to the Lord.}
