Prayer Letter – June 2007
Time is flying by and our upcoming trip out west is rushing in upon us. Still much to do, so we hope we can get it all done before we leave. We will be leaving on Saturday, June 16 and head for Mississippi. From there we will slowly make our way across the States to Grants Pass, Oregon where we will we sharing on Sunday morning, July 1. Leaving Oregon we will head for Washington for the next Sunday, then to Montana where we will share for the next three Sundays. We plan to drop Cody off in Wisconsin where he will be attending Bible School for the next two years and then head home, arriving back in Florida sometime in the second week of August. Please pray for our safety and that we will be able to make all our scheduled stops on time .
Also, please pray that we will have good opportunities to share our ministry of reaching tribal people with the Gospel as we travel. We are asking God to raise up more prayer and financial supporters as we go. For various reasons we have lost some of our partners since returning to the States. We are asking God to reveal His will for our future lives and ministry. Please pray for us in that decision, as well.
We are excited about seeing our son Jason and his wife, Tiffany on our way out West. They live in Grand Junction, Colorado. They just informed us that we are to become grandparents. That will be a new, special experience for us. Their baby is due in December.
The flood waters in Bolivia have gone down. People are moving back to their homes to rebuild and replant. Please pray for the mission’s flood relief program. Our missionaries down there are reaching out to the people in need–many of them are tribal people, including the Yuqui where we worked for 16 years. They want to help alleviate hunger and suffering, but even more, meet the spiritual needs of those to whom they minister.
We just received word that the Ese Ejja tribe in Bolivia is just now receiving their newly completed New Testament. They live in the lowlands of northwest Bolivia, and some of their villages are across the boarder in Peru. Mike Riepma just visited most of their villages passing out New Testaments and wrote that God’s Word was well received in most places. Please pray that the tribal believers will read the Scriptures and grow by them.
God’s Word is going out all over the world. He has promised that it will not return void. Thank you for being a part of this great effort. And thank you for having a part with us as we work here at headquarters, supporting those missionaries who are translating and teaching God’s Word in tribal locations all over the world.
