It is hot in Florida!! It is hard to believe that the 4th of July is almost here already. Hope you all enjoy the weekend. We will probably sit behind the mission on Lake Monroe and have a front seat to watching the Sanford fireworks for the 4th celebration.
Heather is back from her Colorado trip for ROTC at the University of Central Florida. She didn’t get to complete her five free falls but did get to make three of them. I guess she had a hard time controlling the flips that her body wanted to do. She seemed to have really enjoyed it and is already talking about talking more lessons some day when she is rich! She has already taken another short trip to Chicago to visit with friends from Bolivia so she has been a busy traveler but is settling back into her college courses now.
While Heather was in Colorado Jason, Tiffany and Jaxon were able to drive up from Grand Junction to see her. Phil’s cousin, Dave ,and wife Lindy were gracious enough to host them all for the weekend. I am jealous because Heather got to see my grandson, Jaxon, and even play with him and I didn’t!!
Cody has been working at the mission for the summer and has been helping to re-roof one of the mission buildings. He has also been house-sitting for some friends so he keeps busy.
Haley had a good trip with World Changers to South Carolina where they remodeled homes to help needy families. She is enjoying taking it easy while school is out.
Our mission school is out for the summer but I (Jackie) continue to work part-time in the Field Ministry office. I was busy last week helping with Vacation Bible School in our church. We had 75 or more kids and a very exciting week. I helped teach the Bible lesson each day for first through sixth grade. Even had Phil show Cody’s 3 foot ball python and

my African Grey, Beakers, entertained the kids – both teaching spiritual lessons that the kids probably won’t forget. It was exciting to hear that there were 14 kids who trusted the Lord that week!
Phil has been helping put the roof on the mission building, also, and building furniture for the mission book store and other furniture.
Some exciting mission news from around the world:
SENEGAL: Badyaranke tribe: Ten Badyarankes were recently honored for learning to read their own language. Others have expressed interest in taking the literacy course. Please pray that the ability to read will enable them to gain more understanding of God’s Word. Find out more online — here.
Bolivia: Radio Station: One of our missionaries, Bruce Johnson is in Bolivia once again. One of the reasons for his trip was to get the repaired transmitter back out to the radio station and get it hooked up. They had only been able to use the small transmitter and so they weren’t able to reach out very far. Many people were coming in and wondering why they couldn’t hear the radio any more. So, we are happy to report that is up and running again. Bruce has also been busy recording in two languages and working on radio programs. Please pray these programs will reach many of the Chimane, Yura and Simba tribes (read the newest on the Simba translation here) who need Christ or who want to grow in the Lord. (If you are interested in learning more about the radio ministry click here.)
Thank you all again for your prayers for our family and ministry with New Tribes as we seek to help reach the tribes for Christ.
Till the Last Tribes is Reached,
Phil and Jackie Burns
