February has been exciting for me because Phil and Vernon (a volunteer from Nebraska) restarted a long-awaited remodel of our kitchen that was begun years ago. This involved tearing out a whole wall and replacing the 2 old windows with one new one (centered over my sink this time so I can look outside), new cabinets, rewiring, new tile floor, etc. This necessitated being without a stove, sink or use of the kitchen for 2 weeks so that presented some challenges at mealtime…but we survived the worst of it! Now it is usable, though there is still lots to do. Phil had taken off work to get the job started but now is back to working at the towers and main building. We are praying for time and money to complete the kitchen without waiting so long this time! It will be nice when finished!! Those of you who have seen our home know that it has been ‘a work in progress’ for the past 9 ½ years (that’s how long we have been in the house)! God is Good and we are thankful that Phil is so talented that he is able to do most of the work himself. We are doubly thankful for Vernon Gerdes for all of his help, expertise and guidance on what needed to be done!
