MWINIKA PROVERB #6

January 29, 2011 by Phil and Elin Henderson

“Emwidhi madhi oviha. Khamviha empa.” (Family is like hot water. It can’t burn a house down.)

This proverb is somewhat similar to us saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” It means that it doesn’t really matter what your family says, they might hurt but they can’t do any real harm.
