ATTACK OF THE BEES…LITERALLY

November 10, 2011 by Phil and Elin Henderson

Today’s literacy lesson was interrupted by a bunch of angry bees. We have long noticed a bee hive high in the side of a coconut tree at our teaching/literacy site but until now it has not been a problem. Today all that changed. In the middle of the lesson they decided to attack. Everyone dropped what they were doing and fled. Some of the students got stung 30+ times, others escaped sting-free. I (Elin) got one sting on my hand and that was enough to me to feel great sympathy for those who were covered in bites! Tomorrow’s class will be held here at our place until we figure out a solution to this bee dilemma!
