BIG TREES
We didn’t get to see any Redwoods but we did get to see some big cedars in Mount Rainier National Park.
MOUNT ST HELENS
We visited Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument. It erupted May 18th 1980. My parents have a picture of our car covered with ash from the eruption. At the time we were on furlough in British Columbia and I was about five years old. Our kids had fun learning all about it.
SNOW
Over the last few days the kids were thrilled to see some leftover snow in the mountains that hadn’t melted yet.
HATTINGHS BACK IN THE VILLAGE
Our partners, the Hattinghs, are back in the village again after having been in town for medical help. Praise the Lord that Nadia is feeling better after recovering from malaria. Please pray for them as they minister to the Mwinika people.

THE ALAMO
After months of begging, Elias finally got his wish to see the Alamo! We enjoyed touring this and several other sights in the San Antonio area.
JUNIOR PARK RANGERS
Callie and Elias being sworn in as Junior Park Rangers at the Mission San Jose in San Antonio. This is an educational program of the National Park Service where kids learn about the history and features of the park. They have this program in each National Park.
MISSION SAN JOSE
An old Catholic mission in San Antonio. One of four sister missions of what became known as the Alamo.
