One of the villages we visited on the survey was inaccessible by truck so we trekked in 7 km by foot.

Next to one of the Ngoni villages that we visited was a high hill. We climbed up and got to experience a bird’s eye view of the village.

After several days delay we were finally able to renew our visas for another year! We haven’t received the “hard copy” visa but while we wait were given a receipt that is equally recognized. Because of a dead battery our truck has stopped working in the last week or so. While we wait for a replacement battery to arrive we are doing all our traveling by motorbike. Here is a picture of one of my translation helpers and I heading off to a meeting in a nearby village.
