Last week in class I learned how to wire batteries and solar panels in parallel and in series (and, yes, I know the difference now). When I move into a remote location in Papua New Guinea to live with a people group, the electricity for my laptop and refrigerator will come from the sun to a set of solar panels then into batteries which will connect to my laptop for power. I’m really grateful for the “practical skills” classes that I had this semester which helped to prepare me for the skills needed to live overseas.
