We were shopping for a vehicle for a long time, it seemed. God provided us with a beautiful 1999 Toyota Noah van.
We\’ve had it home for a couple weeks and already it has been a huge help and blessing.
Randy has been using it to drive to town and check on the latest procedure for people getting visas and other necessary paper work to live here. There have been quite a few trips, to a number of government offices, as requirements are constantly changing.
I drove the ladies to the vegetable market where we bought beautiful vegetables for this next week. Our coworker Chris and I also went out to a place where they sell nationally made fabric. I bought 27 meters of fabric to make table cloths for tables used for seminars. I also bought some fabric to start recovering a comforter for a guest room.
Randy drove Laura and I to the bus stop where we caught the bus. Laura and I went for the weekend 5 hours north of here where she attended the 15th birthday party of her friend. We had a great time seeing the missionaries who work in north-western Paraguay in the Chaco region, and also got to see the new MK school that has been there just one year.
We still plan to put an alarm on the van as well as a tubular front and rear bumper. The alarm is a wise ideas due to the rise in vehicle thefts, and the bumpers will hopefully protect the van if it becomes part of the common fender benders here.
I just inventoried the guest house to see what we have and what we need. I sure would love to have some quilters and artists to join me (smile). I have 10 comforters to recover and 11 single bedspreads to make as well as 7 small table cloths, curtains for 2 rooms and some other sewing. I need to find 7 good pieces of art and would love to just take painting lessons and paint them myself but that might not happen.
Laura is adjusting to school again and has made some new friends. She is in the worship team and enjoys that. She is also going to help the 4th graders learn a couple of dances, one of which is Australian.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers! We certainly do appreciate you and feel privileged and blessed by your care for us.
We want to thank you again for your vital part in our ministries in Paraguay.
Laurie for all
