Laurie, Laura, and I were reminded of this as we headed to the interior of the country to attend the funeral of a friend of ours who died in an motorcycle accident. We went to be with the family, with a huge burden in our hearts since, as far as we know, the lady had never chosen to trust in Christ and his sacrifice on the cross.
A reminder once again of the need for reaching the lost and why it is so vital that those who have the message of salvation know how to clearly and understandably share it in the language and culture of those who don’t yet have or understand it .
Thanks for being our coworkers and fellow laborers as we press toward that goal and teach and equip others to do so as well.
Van Accident: RESOLVED
Praise the Lord that everything has finally been settled regarding the accident where a motorcycle ran into our van two years ago.
I was found to be not guilty and my lawyers tell me that accordingly I don’t have to worry about the fellow that hit us trying to come after me in the future with some other claim.
Thanks for praying!
More Partners:
Since our last letter another family has arrived to join our Paraguay team in working to reach least reached people groups with the Gospel.
This brings the total to sixteen new missionaries and nine partner churches.
Pray for these newest missionaries, Jon and Jen Quast, as well as the other new missionaries, as they develop relationships in the community around them, learn Spanish and Paraguayan culture, and learn how to adequately learn a different language and culture.
Remember, these missionaries will need to learn yet another language and culture when they finish their studies here in Asuncion, but most likely won’t have the advantage of teachers, books or other written material, etc.
Praise the Lord for these churches who are partnering with us in equipping these missionaries.
When these missionaries head into a tribal work they will be a ministry extension of their local body of believers here, just like they are an extension of the church that sent them to Paraguay.
