Up at 5am this morning…headed to the other side of the world! We (Macon, Dale and I) should get to the Philippines tomorrow night after 22 hours in the air + layovers. Whew!
As the solid white clouds float by underneath me, I’m glad for the verse, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness of it.” We’ll never be anywhere that God is not with us.
Our first adventure will be based out of the national training center to visit various tribal locations for an NTM@work photo shoot. Keep your eye out for the 2013 calendar in November! We’re also hoping to video someone’s story at the training center. Pray that we will connect with just the right people as the students are not in session right now.
The last half of the trip, we’ll be flying to another island to visit the Tala Andig people group for more videos and photo…with our 12 bags of luggage and some rough jeep riding!
We’ll be searching for the story when we get to each place, as we were not able to communicate with folks beforehand. Pray those details will come together and we’ll be able to create stories that will impact the 2500 unreached people groups. Wow…2500 still takes my breath away. We need more laborers, don’t we? And how can they go unless they are sent? =)
Thank-you for helping to send me off with your prayers and support. It’s so encouraging all the folks that have said they will be praying for me. I feel like God has gone before me in the small details of preparing to leave…getting some wick-away shirts, malaria meds, a baby-sitter for my garden etc. And now I’ll get to see what else God has in store in some out-of-the-way places.
I hardly know what to expect, but I am encouraged by Yahweh Oz – The LORD My Strength. I’ve been prepping to lead a summer high school girls study on Knowing God by Name that starts…the week I get back. I am encouraged already to trust more deeply in God. He is my strength all day long. Pray that I will rely on the LORD My Strength through this journey… and that I’ll be able to finish prepping lessons over the Atlantic!
Can’t wait to tell you about what’s going to happen. I pray that you and I will be encouraged by Jesus words, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
PRAYER requests:
1. Daily trusting God for strength
2. Impactful stories (finding willing people, prepping the story, shooting interviews, on-location footage, editing, details to come together, etc.)
3. Safety (Lots of in-country travel)
4. To be a blessing to the missionaries and nationals we visit.

P.P.S. Looks like I won’t be able to see my cousin on this trip, but God still answered my prayer through a video my cousin posted online. I got to “see” him and hear all about his walk of faith, family and business!
