The Bible Study

During the last few weeks of the semester, I had been thinking about doing a Bible study with some people from home. I was learning all of these things, getting excited about what God was teaching us, and Rhett and I were both looking forward to sharing these things with my friends from high school. My reasoning was, that if I had gone through high school never learning some of these cool truths, then OBVIOUSLY these things would be mysteries to my friends as well.

Sometimes God ‘just happens’

So, in the back of my mind, I guess I always had this thought that we wouldn't really see God intervening on our behalf until we were on the field and really being forced to rely on Him for everything. I always sort of figured that as long as we were in the States, that God wouldn't be very obvious, and that even if He was, I would miss it. Well, He has indeed shown up in an obvious way, and its so exciting!

Frustrations in Ministry

At the beginning of the semester, I had signed up for a ministry at the Pregnancy Help Center in Camdenton, MO. I figured that I had just had a baby, so that would hopefully allow me to connect with some of the pregnant teen girls that the center worked with. I looked forward to being a mentor, someone who these girls could look up to, as both a Christian young woman and a mom. This, of course, was my pride speaking, and God knew full well that this was the case. In His wisdom, He chose to have this ministry take a completely different direction for me, as well as the other girls from school who were serving there with me.
