The rice fields that were verdant green a few weeks ago are turning golden yellow. Everyone is busy harvesting their fields. Everyone is thankful that the weather is perfect for harvesting.
The Isnag harvest rice from the mountainsides using a small tool that fits in the palm of their hand and cut they the ripe stalks one at a time and gather them into bundles.
The bundles are carried to the ridge where a platform has been built to dry them so that it will be ready to store for future use. It is a lot of work, but it is work everyone is thankful for. Months of preparing fields, planting, and hoeing are bearing fruit.
Heidi and I are busy carefully picking words and gathering them into sentences, paragraphs, chapters and books. This past week, Heidi re-edited the back to English translation of Acts and we will be sending it off to our translation consultant soon. With the village so quiet, I was able to rough draft Ephesians 2-4.
Please pray that the good weather will last until harvest is finished.
Please pray that God will give us the right words and the ways of using them to clearly communicate God’s word.
Please thank the Lord with us that we are able to minister in the Philippines.
Thank you for your prayers!
God bless,
Jonathan & Heidi
