After taking the 12 member German Missions team into visit the Kalanugya tribe for the week-end, we were waiting for a jeepney to take us back to the flight center. While reminiscing our last few days together, our coworker pulled a letter from his pocket that the Kalanugya believers had written to the team. What an encouragement!!
Dear Brothers and Sisters from the far country of Germany. We have great joy and thankfulness for you; you are true brethren forever even through all eternity. Thank you because you counted it important to come and see us, your brothers in Christ in the Kalanguya, that were originally very poor but now made rich by the mercy of God through the truth of His Word. We are very thankful as we know this is a remote place and the trail is hard, but you endured all this because of your love for God and us here. Having been able to meet you all personally, we are so thankful and glad especially seeing how willingly you spent time with us and shared your testimonies, and sang songs of praise. We were blessed and helped. Also Rocky’s teaching from Psalms because it helped us understand what is really the true blessing of God. At one time we would have thought earthly riches are the blessing, but that is not really true. We are thanking the team for all their good interaction, and many other things that we are not able to speak about individually. One thing we do know for sure – you are our special brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are also thankful for our missionaries who came to our place, because they are the ones who God used so we would be brought from darkness to light. Our desire is that God would continue to guide and bless the missionaries as you bring the good news from tribe to tribe. Our prayer for you is that God will always strengthen you to be used so that many others will know the same help we have experienced. It would be good if you can return again if God will allow this. We will finish here and God is the one who will watch over your travels and keep you until you arrive home. Those who write are your fellow believers in the Kalanguya.
