Well it is LONG AFTER Resurrection Sunday. I can’t believe how much time has gone by, seemingly in just a few hours!
February was quite a cold and snowy month here, in Roach. According to the folks who have lived here for some time, it was the most snow days they have had in several years. We really enjoyed the snow, but the wind that whips through the campus grounds made the fun of playing in the snow a little less fun.
Amid the “snow days” the Lord provided some great times of fellowship and worship with the Olive Point congregation. The folks there are so sweet to us and have embraced us with loving care. We got to share a pizza lunch with a host of the members one afternoon, what fun we had.
Our Sunday school class, the ‘older generation’, have had wonderful discussions through several chapters in the Gospel of Mark. The kids’ groups have been equally as receptive of our children and it has made their time as encouraging as well.
This past weekend we were invited to lunch with some folks from our new Sunday School class, 20s-late 40s. After lunch we got to got out back to their owners’ private lake for some water sports and fishin’. It was a beautiful day to be out! After about two hours of watching the guys teaching me how to fish, Susan got aboard the boat and proceeded to catch four fish – I still hadn’t caught one! When we finally shut things down, to return to church for a Creation Conference, I finished fish-less, but I had the best time with the guys and watching Susan “bring ’em in”.
The Lord continues to show us a great time getting to know new friends along this journey. We are so thankful for each of you, who continue to be a financial blessing to our family, too. We are well aware that we are here building relationships with new friends, due these sacrifices on our behalf. We trust the Lord is encouraging you as He is encouraging us.
