After first trusting in the Lord for our eternal salvation, Jinni and I have enjoyed many opportunities to minister alongside others. Often we had the honor of serving with music and drama teams to present challenging and uplifting portraits of the Christian life – including the foibles and failures. What really encouraged us, too, was how the Lord challenged us to be willing to serve as missionaries.
We came to faith in our LATE 30s. I, Roland, wondered “how can God use me”, since I am so old and have no formal bible training? Well through devoted brothers and sisters, Jinni and I began the process of discipleship and growth in our understanding of the Christian life. We studied the Bible as we joined short-term mission teams and God revealed His ability to use the worst (that would be me) to accomplish something good. He can, does and will continue to do so, even through the “weakest link” in the Body of Christ.
We are continually reminded that the only thing we bring to the Lord’s service are broken vessels. It takes His omnipotent hands, and it takes His eternal, gracious, patience to work in us, on us and through us – AND – He is not stifled because we are weak or immature. I am glad for the blessing of His Word that says, “faithful is He who called you, Who will also bring it to pass”.
So the question is not really “How can God use me?” The exclamation is “praise the Mighty One, Who is faithfully caring for me while He is using me!” Yes. God is accomplishing His purpose through me and yes, He is doing the same through all His adopted saints. We get to become His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works – which He ordained beforehand that we should do. As we grow in our Ambassadorship, carrying the message of Salvation through Jesus Christ and purpose through the work of God’s Holy Spirit, it is clear we truly are blessed children of the Heavenly King. God, our Father is using us, as His redeemed, adopted children, to bring glory to Him and our Savior Jesus.
Hallelujah, what a GREAT Salvation!!

Two things stand out in your lives… reasons why God uses you. Carleen’s personal opinion…
1- You are humble… God always to chooses to use humble servants.
2- You are content… contentment takes us a long, long ways on the field.
