OK…third time is the charm, so they say. You cannot use Word Press with Internet Explorer 9! Great! Now you tell me! 😀 But it seems Google Chrome is working! Yahoo!
We left Knoxville at 8:40 am and google map said the trip would take us 8 hrs. and 34 minutes. Our “bottom-of-the-line” GPS said we would arrive in Jonesville, MI at 4:34 pm. Well, even thought the weather was marvelous, and traffic and construction were minimal, it still took us longer. Surprise, surprise! 3 pit stops and a faulty GPS reading (human error) brought us to our destination at 6:16pm. Our wonderful hosts, The Shollys, greeted us warmly, visited briefly, then took off for Indiana. They had a funeral to attend on Thursday. They left us delectable strawberries and some wonderful fixins for dinner. We watched 2 movies simultaneously, as we do not like commercials…back & forth, back & forth! We unloaded the trailer the next morning; cleaned up the house, bought a new chain and took off. We wore off the old one on the way up.
We arrived in Grand Haven at 2pm and had a marvelous fellowship time until Trevor’s Baccalaureate Service. Amazingly, the public high school allowed it to be held on campus! Praise the Lord! It was very nice, good testimony from a coach, then girls decided they were all hungry. Fellows gallantly decided to stay and reserve seats for us, as we rushed home to “nuke” burritos and make a few for the Dads! We grabbed a few blankets and cushions, as the graduation ceremony was held in the football stadium. 400 students! We had the best seats of course! Top row, the sun warming us until the last 10 minutes AND we had backs to our benches! We could stand up and take photos without blocking anyone either! The class president shared a “famous quotation” – “Love is patient…love is kind….” yes from 1st Corinthians. He was probably not allowed to say where the quotation was from, but we knew! The orchestra played a medley from “Phantom of the Opera”.
Today we woke up and helped get ready for big PARTY tomorrow. Everyone helped: cut lawn, cut veggies, peel potatoes & carrots, decorate tables, make sign, dips, cole slaw dressing and more. 200 people may come. We have to leave early in the morning to go to St. Louis, then Lake of the Ozarks. Roland is preaching Sunday morning in Preston, Mo. We certainly have enjoyed our time with the Millers. Both sets of in-laws are here and we’ve had lots of laughs!
We reminisced about Monty Python’s “Spam”….but the best was seeing Nick Saint’s flying car….check it out!
